Nautel Expands Customer Support with New Quincy Office
Broadcast transmission experts to staff new office, expand Nautel’s service capabilities.
Oct 16, 2008
Hackett’s Cove, Nova Scotia and Bangor, Maine — Nautel Limited announced today the opening of a customer support center based in Quincy, Illinois. The office will expand Nautel’s customer service team with the addition of recognized industry professionals boasting many years of broadcast transmitter experience.
“We are excited that Nautel, one of the top RF broadcast equipment manufacturers in North America has chosen Quincy for its new office location,” commented Jim Mentesti, President of the Great River Economic Development Foundation. “The recognition of Quincy, the home of Parker Gates, founder of Gates Radio, and the location of a cluster of world class broadcast equipment companies and talent by a company of Nautel’s stature confirms the economic strength of our community and region as a place high tech companies can prosper.”
“Long known for its abundance of skilled broadcast technical personnel, Quincy is an ideal location for an additional Nautel office,” said Kevin Rodgers, Nautel’s Manager of Customer Service. “With this new office in the central USA, we can increase our customer support coverage while leveraging the expertise of some very talented people in the area.”
Initial hires for the Quincy Customer Support team include Nelson Bohorquez and Jim Krueger. Jim comes to Nautel from Harris, where he worked on high power systems in the 200 kW to 2 MW range. Prior to joining Harris, Jim worked for the United States Coast Guard, where he was involved with the installation of many Loran-C high power transmitters.
Nelson Bohorquez was employed at Broadcast Electronics for the past seven years in their customer service department. An experienced broadcast engineer, Nelson’s first language is Spanish; this will greatly benefit Nautel customers throughout Latin America.
Also based in Quincy is sales engineer Steve Schmitt, who held sales engineering and customer service positions at both BE and Harris prior to joining Nautel. Schmitt will assist the Nautel’s sales team worldwide in developing integrated transmission solutions.
“The opening of our Quincy office is the latest step in providing the very best in sales engineering and customer support to our customers worldwide,” said Peter Conlon, Nautel President and CEO. “It is yet another reason why with Nautel, you can truly expect more.”
